As Natural Awakenings of the NY Capital District continues to expand its circulation reach, the need for additional distribution contractors increases. Publisher Carolyn Coogan says, “We’ve separated some larger routes to better offer saturation in areas where the largest populations of readership are, which means we’re looking for more drivers.” Requirements include reliable transportation, a flexible schedule and computer knowledge and access.
The distribution team delivers the magazine over two days at the end of each month and is paid on a per-stop basis. Routes generally take between four and six hours to complete. There are also several routes that include additional replenishments throughout the month for racks at markets like Whole Foods.
Coogan adds, “Many of our drivers are active retirees, and this is a great way to get out in the community and make some extra spending money each month. We do get a lot of inquiries from people who are working full time and believe that we deliver during the evening and weekends, but this is not the case, so it’s not something someone with a full-time job would be able to do. We deliver the magazine weekdays during business hours, so a flexible schedule is key.
“All of our drivers are readers who love sharing the magazine with the community. We have a few who have been with us more than four years. Right now, we’re seeking three or four more drivers to take over communities such as Troy, Saratoga Springs and Guilderland,” notes Coogan.
For serious inquiries, email Jobs@AlbanyAwakenings.com (no phone calls please) with your town of residence and phone number. Drivers are hired to deliver in the direct zip codes in which they live.
