Elena Ajdelsztajn, a certified CranioSacral Therapist and New York state-licensed massage therapist, is the owner of Welcome Home Integrative Bodywork, in Albany. The gentle and non-invasive nature of CranioSacral Therapy makes it suitable for people of all ages, and new clients receive 10 percent off their first session during the month of April 2019.

CranioSacral Therapy uses gentle, hands-on techniques to release tensions on the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord. It addresses problems such as neck and back pain where these membranes might have become tight due to injuries or surgical procedures.

A fall on the tailbone can cause these membranes to contract and put pressure on nerves that are coming out of the spine, causing low back pain or sciatica. Neck and back surgery may create scar tissue which can be painful and create a great deal of discomfort. CranioSacral Therapy gently manipulates the bones of the spine and skull to reach deep in the body and release these tight tissues, helping relieve pressure and pain and restore the natural space and fluid flow in the affected areas.
