Carolyn Coogan received a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Westfield State University in 1997 along with accreditation through several national organizations, including The American College of Sports Medicine, in subsequent years. As she began a career in the Health and Wellness industry, she began to feel more personal fulfillment lay in the Mind, Body, and Spirit connection of well-being, rather than strictly in its physical aspects. She consequently also felt a compelling calling to enlighten and enrich the lives of others, and in turn, made the decision in 2004 to become a small business owner, opening a New Age gift shop (Elements Alternative Gifts, Inc) in Muncie, Indiana.
Although life relocated her to the state of New York in 2007, and she therefore reluctantly closed up shop, the connections, personal growth, and sense of life purpose gained through that experience have been immeasurable. In the years following, Carolyn utilized her business management capabilities for two retail establishments in Ithaca and Albany. She is well rooted now in the Capital District and also happy to be just a few hour’s drive away from her hometown of Dennis, Massachusetts.
In her leisure time, Carolyn pursues a joy she’s always held for music, performing with community based musical and theatrical groups. She was a long-time member of Capital Community Voices in East Greenbush and now sings with Saratoga Soundrack Chorus, an award-winning Sweet Adeline International group.
At the root of everything, Carolyn has continuously aimed to positively impact others. Most importantly, along with combining all of her professional strengths, publishing Natural Awakenings allows her to do this in countless ways, as it essentially becomes the catalyst in connecting people with the resources that can be ultimately life changing.
