The Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region and the Huether School of Business of The College of Saint Rose are offering an eight-week intensive training course in real-world business planning and what newcomers need to know to start and run a successful small business.
Classes meet from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays, beginning January 27 through March 17. Class topics include developing a business plan, strategic planning, marketing, sales forecasting, financial management and analysis, plus legal, insurance and tax issues. The course provides fundamental planning concepts and tools to help existing and potential business owners.
Paul Stewart, director of training and technical assistance, says, “For those thinking of starting a business or those who currently have a business that they would like to expand, this is a great opportunity to work out the details in a supportive and structured environment. The Community Loan Fund of the Capital Region has been helping nonprofit organizations and small businesses since 1985. They provide financing and technical assistance, as well as free, one-on-one business counseling.”
