Elena Ajdelsztajn, owner of Welcome Home Integrative Bodywork, in Albany, is a New York state-licensed massage therapist and certified CranioSacral Therapist. She specializes in this gentle, hands-on method of releasing tensions in the bones and membranes around the brain and spinal cord that can be a valuable support to the health of our temporo mandibular joints, or TMJ. Ajdelsztajn is offering new patients 10 percent off their first session during February 2019.

There are two temporal bones in the skull, one on each side of the head, just beneath the ears. If even slightly out of alignment due to head trauma or poor posture, they can cause discomfort. With CranioSacral Therapy, practitioners evaluate the subtle motions of the temporal bones and mandible to detect imbalances, and using soothing techniques, help release any internal or external tensions they find.

The gentle and non-invasive nature of CranioSacral Therapy, as well as its effects on balancing the central nervous system, makes it a helpful ally in reducing stress and tension, which can be integrated with other approaches as part of a comprehensive plan for the treatment of TMJ.

Location: 409 New Karner Rd., Ste. 101, Albany. For more information and appointments, call 518-783-6091 or visit WelcomeHomeIntegrativeBodywork.com.
